Testing, Assessment, Reporting and Education Standards

Beginning in the 2013-14 school year, the California Department of Education (CDE) began implementing a new assessment system known as CAASSP.  The CAASSP encompasses several different required assessments, including the Smarter Balanced Assessment, CST, CMA, and CAPA, and will be modified as the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) are implemented in each subject area.

Student progress towards the Common Core State Standards are tested using the Smarter Balanced Assessment.  During the 2013-14 school year, field tests for ELA and Math were conducted but results were not released.  Students will again be tested during the 2014-15 school year in ELA and Math using the Smarter Balanced Assessment and results will be released.  Students will continue to be assessed on the CA State Science Standards using the STAR assessments.
